Your little baby is growing away, and is now a toddler, however they still need lots of sleep. Until they are 2 year old they still need about 13 to 14 hours dedicated to sleep each day. Out of these 14 hours they need about 11 of them at night.
Your little toddler may still need 2 naps when their 12 months old, but around 18 months they may be ready to go down to one single nap of 1 to 2 hours in the afternoon. They may follow this pattern until they are 3 to 4 years old.
My little boy follow a similar pattern he was up between 6 and 7 in the morning have loads of energy throughout the morning then at about 12 or half past 12 his energy would crash and he would need a nap. He follow this pattern until a few months before his 3rd birthday. We had to get him out of a nap each day as he was going pre-school twice a week and wasn’t sleeping until 9 or 10 at night, when his bedtime is at 7.
Anyway back to the naps, moving from two naps to one can be a little bit tricky as they won’t be use to it and they energy routines will not adjust straight away. You can try and keep them engage and talking playing with their toys until the afternoon when they need to have a nap or you can try and alternate naps by having one nap on one day then on the next day have two naps and so fourth until you think you can get them down to just one.
Just remember give them love and support because in the end they will get their in the end. Everything is learnt in time, some just take a little longer
